Kachina at Forest Knoll Estate operates as a residential care home and is equipped to manage a broad range of medical needs. The team can serve residents who wander, exhibit elopement risk, present combative or other behavioral issues, stay awake through the night, or live with advanced dementia. Clinical support extends to wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and diabetes oversight whether oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin are required. Residents under age 60 can also be accommodated.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site around the clock, with an additional nurse on call 24 hours a day. Staff remain awake overnight, and all personnel undergo background checks. Security measures include a fenced rear area, door alarms, 24-hour staffing, and PERS alert systems. The home accepts residents with psychiatric conditions and supplies full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby support to one- or two-person assists, Hoyer lift usage, and bed-bound care. Walker and wheelchair mobility are supported.
Private and shared rooms are available, most furnished, and residents may paint or decorate with prior approval to make the space their own. Cable service is offered in select rooms, and not every accommodation includes every feature.
Meals follow both a set menu and an on-order system, providing flexibility for personal preference and physician-ordered diet modifications. Snacks are available throughout the day, and staff monitor portions and nutritional compliance for residents who need assistance.
Amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, and designated outdoor smoking areas. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and errands.
