Legacy House of Avondale delivers both Assisted Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to remain in the same community even as needs change. The team supports an extensive range of medical requirements, including help for residents who wander during the day or night, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, overnight wakefulness, wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, and diabetes management whether oral medication, injections, or sliding‐scale insulin are required. Staff are also trained to manage advanced dementia conditions and will admit adults under 60 when clinically appropriate.
Care delivery is reinforced by an RN or LPN on duty, a nurse on site around the clock, and another nurse on call after hours. Background-checked caregivers provide awake and asleep night shifts, and an activity director coordinates daily programming. Safety measures include 24-hour staffed security, fenced outdoor areas, door alarms, wander guards, and in-room pull cords. On-site medical providers include visiting podiatrists, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Staff can give full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and they handle mobility ranging from simple walker supervision to two-person and Hoyer-lift transfers for bed-bound residents.
Apartments can feature a private bathroom, kitchenette, furnished setups, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to repaint or decorate, but not every unit offers every feature; availability depends on the specific floor plan. Residents can furnish the space themselves if they prefer or select community-provided furniture.
Meals are served with a set menu and an on-order option at each sitting, with snacks available throughout the day. The culinary staff works with healthcare providers to accommodate physician-ordered or preference-based diet modifications, including diabetic, low-sodium, texture-adjusted, and other specialized plans.
Residents have access to reserved parking, outdoor smoking areas, pet-friendly policies, fully wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet connectivity, communal gardens, on-site religious services, scheduled transportation, and proximity to public transit. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
