Covenant Place of Gardendale provides both Assisted Living and dedicated Memory Care. The community cares for residents who wander during the day or night, those at risk for elopement, individuals who are up all night, and people who need oxygen therapy or special diets. Staff manage diabetes across the spectrum, from oral medication to injections and sliding-scale insulin, and they are prepared to support residents with moderate dementia. A therapy room is available on site, and the team accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses when appropriate.

The clinical team includes an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse on site around the clock, and an additional nurse on call 24/7. Background checks are completed on employees, and night-shift staff remain awake. Safety measures include door alarms, WanderGuard systems, fenced outdoor areas, pull cords, a personal emergency response system, and continuous security coverage. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can perform one- or two-person transfers as well as provide standby or wheelchair support. An activity director oversees structured programming throughout the day.

Residents choose from accommodations that may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, individual climate controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate the room; however, not every suite contains every feature. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided to all residents, so basic chores are handled by staff.

Dining offers flexibility through set menus and on-order selections, with snacks available at all hours. Meals can be enjoyed in the main dining room, a private dining space, or delivered to the apartment for in-room service. The culinary team manages diet modifications such as gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, puréed, or thickened-liquid diets to meet physician orders and resident preferences.

Amenities and services include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, outdoor smoking areas, communal gardens, an exercise room, movie room, wellness center, library, barber and beauty shop, internet access, special-interest clubs, on-site religious services, and proximity to public transportation with scheduled community transport available. Pets are allowed, and it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
