Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen delivers three levels of living—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—with the Memory Care neighborhood set up to manage moderate dementia. Residents who wander during the day or night, exhibit elopement risk, or stay awake overnight are monitored and redirected in a secure area. Nurses support wound care, oxygen therapy, and complex diabetic regimens, including oral medications, injections, and sliding-scale coverage. Special diets are accommodated through collaboration between nursing and dining teams.
Clinical coverage includes an RN or LPN on every shift, with a licensed nurse on site 24 hours a day. Background-checked caregivers work an awake overnight shift, and an Activity Director designs dementia-specific programming. The community is protected with door alarms, fenced outdoor space, pull-cord alerts, and a personal emergency response system. Full assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Residents who use walkers or wheelchairs receive standby help, one-person, or two-person transfers as needed. On-site services such as podiatry, rehabilitation therapies, and psychiatric care reduce the need for off-site appointments.
Apartments vary, and not every unit includes every feature, but residents may choose layouts with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, or furnished setups. Most suites have independent temperature controls and basic cable, and many allow residents to paint or decorate. Some units include washers and dryers, while others rely on scheduled laundry services. Housekeeping is provided routinely and can be increased if care needs change.
Dining offers a standing menu plus on-demand choices at each meal. Snacks are available throughout the day, and the kitchen can deliver gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chopped, puréed, or thickened-liquid diets. Independent Living residents can enroll in medication-management monitoring, receive weekly housekeeping and laundry, and select a monthly meal plan that provides flexible access to the main dining room.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty salon, exercise room, movie theater, wellness center, internet, communal gardens, on-site religious services, library, and an outdoor pool. Scheduled transportation is provided for medical appointments and local errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
