Brookdale University Park offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care in one location, allowing residents to transition between levels of support without leaving the community. The health team can address a wide range of medical needs, including residents who wander during the day or night, those at risk for elopement, individuals who remain awake overnight, and people requiring wound care, oxygen therapy, or specialized diets. Diabetic management is available for oral medications, injections, and sliding-scale insulin. The Memory Care program is equipped to support advanced dementia and related behaviors, and psychiatric conditions are accepted for residents who need that oversight.
A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on-site 24 hours, with additional nursing on call at all times. Staff members undergo background checks, work awake overnight, and can respond quickly through pull cords, personal emergency response systems, door alarms, and WanderGuard technology. The campus is fenced front and back and maintains 24-hour security coverage. Full assistance is available for bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby with a walker to two-person or full Hoyer lift transfers for bed-bound residents. A therapy room is on the premises for rehabilitation sessions and ongoing treatments.
Apartments can include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, furnished setups, independent climate controls, cable service, and in-unit laundry, although not every residence has every feature. Residents may personalize their space with paint or décor, and housekeeping is provided. Scheduled laundry services are offered for those who prefer staff support. Independent Living residents receive housekeeping, linen service, and regular medication-management monitoring.
Dining follows a set menu with snacks available throughout the day. A private dining room can be reserved for family gatherings, and the kitchen can accommodate diet modifications such as gluten-free and vegetarian requests. For Independent Living, a monthly meal plan allows residents to choose the number of meals they want each day, adjusting as their schedules change.
Community amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise and movie rooms, a wellness center, library, therapy room, fireside living room, business center, guest suites, and special-interest clubs. Outdoor features span a putting green, communal gardens, porch spaces, and a secure 24-hour security system. On-site religious services, a general store, bank, postal services, concierge support, and internet access add convenience, while emergency response devices are in every apartment. Transportation is provided, and the campus is close to public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
